Cross posted after yesterday's Rabbit hole exercises. Comments/insults and praise welcomed.

“It’s for your own good,” said the Rabbit, smiling his gap toothed grin and stroking one oversized ear. “Really, your own good. Trust me.”, he smiled again. Alice frowned, unconvinced. The frown was hampered by the need to twist her head to peer out the rabbit’s upstairs window.
“My own good? Really? How is this for my own good?”, she asked. The shutters on the window rattled as she spoke.
“Well, in here no one can get to you. You’re safe. Yes, that’s it, safe. In the little house, little you are safe.”
Alice frowned again, being described as little seemed more than a little ridiculous bearing in mind the situation. Her arms and legs protruded through the windows and the doors of the house, and her neck was fast developing a crick. She dipped her head a moment and ran her fingers along the fringe of her aproned skirt, flattening it down, just in case any passing woodland creatures decided to cop an eyeful. She looked up again.
“But I, ummmm…” she paused as the rabbit cocked his head to one side, making an excellent pretence of listening, “I don’t want to be here”. She silently cursed the stupid potion with the “drink me” label. You’d think she’d learn.
“Well yes, yes. I can see that. But… you see… a lot of the discussion around this revolves around the extent to which I or the Cheshire Cat can be trusted with the assessments that we make... and that's a real issue.”
“yes! It is!”, exclaimed Alice, “You’re making decisions for me, about my life, about my lib…”
“But I have made an assessment,” interrupted the rabbit. “And my assessment is that you should be locked up for your own good. And I can be trusted. So it’s not a problem is it?”
Alice boggled at the rabbit.
“Wonderland isn’t the land it once was, you know, young lady,” the rabbit continued, “we have good intelligence to suggest that there are Cards chopping heads off. And that they’d like to chop all our heads off. It’s said that they have choppers that would chop us all in one swoop. Dangerous things, Cards.”
“But…” Alice tried to fit her word in edgeways, upright or longways - to no avail.
“And I would be remiss in doing my job, if I allowed your head to be chopped off… allowed you to be late…” the rabbit chuckled “…so here you will stay.”
Alice wiggled her feet, knocking over a garden shrub. The shrub muttered about “injurification”.
“Our care in the community has failed, the March Hare got coursed despite our ban, the Hatter is still at large and wanted for the brutalisation of innocent dormice. Which, of course, we deplore. A rogue element, you understand. Not institutionalised. No, no… ahem. Errr… where was I?” the rabbit looked flustered.
“Proooblems?”, a languid voice, followed by a wide smile.
“Yes!” exclaimed Alice to the mile-wide-smile, “Yes! Problems! This, this, rabbit; won’t let me go.”
“I pay great attention to the civil liberties of the country. But on the other hand, it is also right that there is a new form of head chopping in Wonderland”, Alice began to feel that the Cat wasn’t talking to her, "They will cause death and destruction on an unlimited scale and they will and are trying to organise such head chopping activity in our own country. I just hope people get this in perspective.” The cat appeared fully, rubbed himself against the shrub that Alice had kicked, and as quickly as he had appeared, he vanished entirely.
Too much time amongst foliage, thought Alice.
“So. That’s that, then. We don’t like it. But you are under house.” The rabbit made choking noises that might have been a laugh. “Sorry, a little joke. But the fact remains. You’re not going anywhere.”
And with that, he turned, examined his pocket watch, and hopped away.
Alice wished she could wake up.

I like. Very in keeping with the feel of Lewis Carroll's own writing.
