I don't want to tread on [livejournal.com profile] caddyman's toes as the founder of the community, but one of the things that he, [livejournal.com profile] ephraim, [livejournal.com profile] pax_draconis and I discussed before N.W.O. was the possibility of using [livejournal.com profile] just_writing as a way to encourage people to write - people like me, who have ideas all the time, but need a deadline (even a fake one) to actually get anything done.

As part and parcel of that, there was the idea of having a theme, quotation, situation that was wide enough in its meaning or interpretation that all members of the community could write something that they wanted to write, but at the same time allow us to have fun comparing each others fall-back positions and comfort-zones and more to the point to encourage members to move away from those and try new things, in terms of style, content, whatever.

So - you're wondering if I'm getting to a point, right - because I have no idea how to set up one of those poll thingies can you post a comment to this thread as yay (to start having a theme and a deadline) or nay, accepting of course that even if the idea is put into practice, no one is to get all nazi with people who don't join in...?

Okay, enough from me now,

G'night!
