Or in other words, I find myself doing creative writing as an enrichment course this year, and I was wondering if folks could throw me some ideas about what I should include. I know this isn't the usual sort of entry posted here, but I thought it might be an interesting and fruitful place to reap some ideas.

So far I'm toying with ideas like - the 100 words thing for a week, perhaps having a half term where we deal with different themes, looking at different types of poetry and different fiction genres - so actually doing some reading rather than just writing, doing some 'game' type things like continuing & passing stories round the group and so on.

I was wondering if anyone has been involved with any sort of formal workshops and if so what stuff did you do, or if you were going to be involved i a workshop what sort of stuff would you be interested in doing?

Never been to a formal workshop, not much clue what might be included in them. However, teaching people to edit strikes me as something that usually gets missed and something I'd like to be better at in my own writing - or maybe I actually just need to do less so I could write more... :)

there's a game called "Once upon a time" where you get dealt a hand of cards with characters, concepts, places and things on them and you collectively tell a story, with each of you trying to reach a predetermined (and different) ending using the cards in your hand.

Might be worth a look?
